SPEAK UP!!

   speakup

SPEAK UP….. speak up….. SPEAK up……. speak UP……. SPEAK UP!!!!

I can’t tell you how many times I have yelled this at myself (internally because I certainly wasn’t saying it to anyone else) over the years.

“Keep it to yourself!”…..
“What you have to say doesn’t really matter to anyone else”…..
“You are probably just making this up in your head Josh”…..
“You’re being stupid, forget it”…..

How many of you trap your own voice out of fear for rocking the boat? Causing a disagreement? Fear of confrontation? Don’t want to look or sound stupid?

Want to know the result of that reckless behavior?  YOU LOSE YOUR VOICE.

This has become a profound realization for me over the past couple of weeks. I’ve forgotten who this person (ME) is inside because for so long I’ve kept him quiet. I’ve kept him tucked away because I didn’t want to be hurt. I didn’t want to feel inadequate. I didn’t want to say something I would regret. I just didn’t know how to SPEAK UP.

After a lot of time soul-searching and soul-cycling (wink-wink), I’ve realized that my voice matters. I have a unique perspective on this world and what I say has depth and significance. It’s so much easier to forget who you are and settle for less than your LEVEL 10 LIFE because the minute the expectation is for you to shine you second guess yourself. The quicker you find your voice the faster you will have confidence in knowing that you are making a difference in your own life. It might not always be what others want to hear but it still needs to be heard….(dramatic pause)…. This is YOUR LIFE. You are entitled to have expectations and to believe that you deserve the best life has to give. SPEAK UP.

(Go ahead, say that over and over and over until you believe it)

Shine bright like a diamond (you know you went all Rihanna just then) and                 BE AUTHENTIC. Being authentic requires that you use your voice. Being authentic means that you are TRUE to your own personality, spirit, and character. In today’s world being authentic means standing out, standing up, and standing firm in who you are and what you believe. You have to have a sense of your nature and your boundaries. Not knowing or losing sight of those things can lead to you suppressing the beauty that is YOU!

Today and moving forward I challenge you to speak these affirmations as a way to build mental muscle and agility. You have to re-train your own awareness and sense of self so that you recognize who it is speaking when you SPEAK UP!  Speak these in the morning before you start your day. Please feel free to change these so that they resonate with YOU but these are a great place to start!

I am worthy and capable of achieving anything I set my mind to today.
The difference between achieving and believing is the action and
commitment I put into it

I choose to live as if tomorrow doesn’t exist and that today is my only
opportunity to celebrate life

I will make others believe in me because I will believe in them and
myself

I will love abundantly and share the joy that I have centered my life
and faith around

I have the courage to SPEAK UP for what is founded in truth and
integrity and with that in mind I will lift others up and inspire
courageous acts of forgiveness and grace

Keep the faith and remember that you are capable of amazing things!

Until next time, BE GOOD AND DO GOOD FOR OTHERS!

Great post. I do know that you speak up (eventually). Your head voice is very loud and so is mine. Something I’ve learned recently is your gut telling you something is SOMETHING. Either speak up or act on it. You know better than most how short our time is here. Being complacent is something you aren’t good at anymore. Xoxoxoxo I love you
